Dr. Hélène Boyer
Physician and vice-president at Association des médecins francophones du Québec, Canada
Dr. Hélène Boyer decided to join the Médecins francophones du Canada after attending the Annual Medical Conference (CAMD) a few years ago. An active and enthusiastic member of CAMD’s scientific committee, she became vice-president of the association. She practices “intense” family medicine, as she describes it, in the Saint-Louis-du-Parc Family Medicine Group in Montreal. Also an associate professor in the Department of Family Medicine in McGill University, Dr. Boyer says that this aspect of her daily life, the transmission and sharing of knowledge, is for her essential. And despite an English-speaking teaching environment, she makes a point of promoting French.
The Museum has partnered with Médecins francophones du Canada to set up a world first pilot project for museum visit prescriptions. As an adjuvant to conventional treatments, these unprecedented medical prescriptions enable patients to enjoy the health benefits of art in free visits to the Museum.
