Senior Regeneration Manager at London Legacy Development Corporation, UK
Francesca is a strategist and project delivery expert with 13 years’ experience working in urban regeneration. Her knowledge and experience spans urban planning, economic development, housing, education, grassroots community development and the arts and cultural sectors.
As Senior Manager at the Mayor of London’s Legacy Development Corporation, she leads on designing the impact strategy for London’s largest cultural and education infrastructural investment, the £1.1bn East Bank on Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park. She also designs, commissions and sponsors programmes that support sustainable economic growth, create access to jobs, training and skills development and that build community resilience – including the Hackney Wick Creative Enterprise Zone, Fashion District and the Good Growth Hub, amongst others. Francesca has built community, social enterprise and inclusive economic growth initiatives at the hyper local scale too; while working in housing and regeneration in Poplar, east London, she won the 2016 UK Women in Housing Award for ‘Most Effective Project in Improving the Lives of Women & Communities’ for the ‘Chrisp Street Exchange’ placemaking project.
Partnership and collaboration are fundamental to Francesca’s professional practice. She cares about ensuring that local people are driving urban change processes and benefitting from them, setting up governance arrangements that challenge power imbalances and the status quo, and believes in pushing boundaries while honouring stakeholder interest.
