Heather Whitely Robertson

Heather is Head of Learning & Participation at the Art Gallery of New South Wales in Sydney, Australia. Trained as an architect and educator, Heather has spent the past 20 years shaping cultural space and civic thought in art museums. She is known for her leadership of social impact projects, diversity and inclusion strategy and creative leadership of artist-led participatory practice and performance with cultural settings.
Prior to joining AGNSW, Heather was Director of Audiences at the Museum of Contemporary Art Australia where she was responsible for launching the National Centre for Creative Learning and its award-winning access, education and artist-led late night programs. Previous positions include Head of Learning at Open House London; Learning Manager at the Victoria and Albert Museum; Curator of Family and Community Programmes at Tate Modern and Education Officer at the National Gallery of Victoria in Melbourne.
