In a career of over 15 years in banking, finance and law, 13 at the Westpac Group, Michael has served in key roles including general management, strategy, distribution, treasury and product. Prior to Westpac, Michael worked for five years as an M&A and capital markets lawyer in top tier law firms in Sydney and New York. He is currently Strategic Consultant to Harrison.ai.
Outside of his professional career, Michael has also built a strong reputation for driving change, delivering social impact and building significant stakeholder and donor support in the arts, health and other not-for-profit sectors. As Chair of Milk Crate Theatre (Chair since 2016, Director since 2013), Michael led the company’s financial turnaround and remains key in building relationships with, and securing funding from, private & governmental stakeholders. In addition to regular pro bono consulting to the social sector, he is Chair of the Young Ambassadors’ Committee, Museum of Contemporary Art Australia, a Member of St Vincent’s Health Australia’s NSW Advisory Council, and a Member of the UNSW Law Advisory Council. He is also a former member of the State Advisory Board of Starlight Children’s Foundation.
