Patrick Gyger studied history and history of art at the University of Lausanne, before directing the Maison d’Ailleurs from 1999 to 2010 in Yverdon-les-Bains. There, he set up numerous exhibitions of artists or by theme (art brut, sustainable architecture, music, automatons, digital arts, etc.). In 2011, he became the director of the Lieu Unique in Nantes, a national center for contemporary culture and an interdisciplinary space. In 2017, Patrick Gyger is distinguished for his work in France and beyond by being named Chevalier de l’ordre des Arts et des Lettres by the French Ministry of Culture and Communication. Since January 1st, 2021, he has been the managing director of Plateforme 10. Throughout his career, he has enriched his experience with various other activities by proposing projects for cultural venues, participating in nomination juries, expert committees, giving lectures, teaching and working as an exhibition curator, author and book editor.
