Stefanie Joy Muscat joined the Abbe Museum in May 2018 and is a firm believer in the power of museums in modern society. For 13 years, she was at the helm of Bevara, an award-winning international nonprofit consulting firm. Stefanie has worked with indigenous communities throughout the Americas for over 20 years. Throughout her career, she has been honored for her work. In 1999, she was included on the Detroit Free Press’ list of “100 People to Watch This Century”, for work to promote art, heritage and culture. In 2014, she was selected as a Fellow of The Nantucket Project, a gathering of the world’s leading thinkers, visionaries, and performers to discuss the theme of “art + commerce”.
