Guided Tours at the Canadian Museum of History

The Canadian Museum of History offers delegates the opportunity to choose between two unique guided tour experiences, each providing a different perspective on the Museum and its collections.

Tour 1 - Behind the Scenes: Conservation and Exhibition Preparation

Visit the Conservation labs and Exhibit Preparation workshops to see how these teams combine technology, craft, technical hand skills, and artistry to support and elevate the access, use, and interpretation of cultural objects at the Canadian Museum of History. The tour will be presented by Conservator Lavina Li and Preparator Maya Aubin.

Tour 2 - Grand Hall

Join Dr. Kaitlin McCormick for a guided exploration of the Grand Hall, an iconic space dedicated to the Indigenous cultures of Canada’s Pacific Northwest. Delegates will discover monumental house fronts, historic poles, and masterful works by renowned Indigenous artists, all set within striking architecture inspired by an ocean-going canoe. This immersive experience combines cultural insight with breathtaking views of the Ottawa River and Parliament Hill.
