Guided Tour at the Library and Archives Canada: Ādisōke Construction Site Walk-By
Take an outdoor guided walk around the perimeter of Ādisōke, the new shared facility of the Ottawa Public Library and Library and Archives Canada. Designed as an iconic, sustainable destination in Canada’s capital region, Ādisōke will bring together the collections and services of both institutions under one roof, creating new spaces for public services, exhibitions, events and community engagement.
The project’s architectural design was shaped through extensive public consultation, including engagement with Indigenous communities and the host Anishinabe Algonquin Nation, whose unceded traditional territory the building occupies. The name Ādisōke comes from Anishinābemowin and refers to the art of storytelling.
The walk will provide an opportunity to view the building up close from publicly accessible areas, accompanied by an overview of the project, its development and key milestones. Please note that the visit does not include access to the construction site itself.
Start time: 10:00 am
