Digital natives, cultural pioneers: unexpected paths to cultural connection

Masterstudent Cultuurmanagement aan de UAntwerpen

About Shauna:

Noé Lagaert (she/her) is a Belgian photographer, a coordinator with a passion for art in all its shapes and forms, and a cultural manager in the making, based in Ghent. She is known for her commitment to inclusive storytelling and accessibility in the arts. As a former member of Schoonvolk!, the youth collective of the Museum of Fine Arts (MSK) in Ghent, she worked to bridge the gap between young audiences and cultural institutions. In 2024, she co-curated and coordinated Alternative Narrative, a groundbreaking exhibition at MSK that brought overlooked artworks and marginalized voices into the spotlight. The exhibition emphasized themes of gender diversity, forgotten heritage, and the need to challenge traditional museum practices. As both a maker and a future cultural manager, she has a comprehensive understanding of the cultural field, navigating it from multiple perspectives — artistic, organizational, and critical. This dual insight enables her to facilitate meaningful connections between creators, institutions, and audiences.
