I have built and sold three digital marketing businesses over the last 25 years: George Patterson Digital Marketing (Management Buy Out and sold 2006) and The Works Digital Marketing (sold to Capgemini, 2018) ‘On Message’ AI chatbot developer (sold to Capgemini, 2018). 

The Media, Marketing and Creative Industries are at the forefront of the deployment of AI in Australia, and I am experienced in understanding the challenges and opportunities of AI in both the public and private sectors. As AI Strategy Lead at The Works, part of Capgemini, I have been deeply involved in the creation, deployment and risk management of both internal and third-party client AI projects in an ISO27001 certified environment.

I have 25 years of marketing experience working with Federal and State Governments including NSW Govt, NT Govt, ACT Govt and Queensland Govt.

According to 2023 research from The Capgemini Institute, the #1 use case for generative AI in Government is the deployment of intelligent agents (chatbots) to provide citizens with information, utility and community. I have 8 years’ experience in chatbot strategy, build, risk management and deployment.

I have been Chair of ADMA (Association for Data driven Marketing and Advertising) for 4 years. ADMA is the peak body in Australia for the digital marketing industry. Being Chair involved collaboration with Federal Government on data privacy, compliance and policy.

I am involved with First Nations culture and creative industries so I can help ensure an inclusive approach to AI in the creative industries.
