Scott Whinfield

Scott Whinfield is a marketing and communications professional with a lifelong passion for the arts. For the past decade, he has worked for state opera companies on either side of the country and collaborated with many of Australia’s leading opera singers, theatre-makers, and administrators. He teamed up with cook Maggie Beer to create a signature dessert to mark star soprano Jessica Pratt’s debut at the Sydney House debut in 2018.

From 2014 – 2022, Scott was Victorian Opera’s Media and Communications Executive and subsequent Acting Marketing Manager. During his time there, he presented and produced several popular series including podcast The Art of Opera, which ranked third on New York City Theatre website’s Top 5 opera podcasts internationally. In 2020, Scott presented and produced the Green Room Award-winning web series Artists in Isolation. The weekly interview program profiled how artists across the world dealt with the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic.

He relocated to Perth in 2022 for a position as West Australian Opera’s Marketing Manager, and subsequently became a Council Member of the Government House Foundation of Western Australia and an arts and culture segment contributor on ABC Perth Drive.

Scott has recently returned to Melbourne for a new role as Victorian Opera’s Head of Marketing.
