Talk is Free Theatre - Michael Torontow & Noah Beemer
Michael Torontow is the Director of Marketing and Communications, and an Artistic Associate of Talk is Free Theatre (TIFT), a theatre company based just north of Toronto in Barrie, Ontario, Canada. He has been a professional actor, director, writer, and arts administrator for over twenty years. While most of his work in theatre has been seen in Canada, he has also appeared on stages across the U.S., in Australia, the U.K. and Argentina. Under the TIFT umbrella, as a web developer, Michael designed, built and manages the Canadian Musical Theatre Database (www.cmtdb.ca), an online marketing and networking resource to support and promote Canadian works. A language enthusiast, Michael speaks English, French,Spanish, some German, some Italian, and a little Slovak.
Noah Beemer is an interdisciplinary artist based out of Toronto, Ontario. He has performed as an actor across Canada, with credits at companies including Talk is Free Theatre (TIFT), Drayton Entertainment, Young People's Theatre and the Stratford Festival. Through his work with TIFT he has also had the opportunity to work in administrative positions, as well as researching and implementing mental health initiatives, with the goal of creating a healthier and more sustainable culture within the theater industry. He is passionate about inclusivity and thrilled to be attending the Communicating the Arts Conference with TIFT’s mission of making immersive theatre more accessible through augmented reality.
