Cultural organizations “are faced with radical uncertainty: they do not know, they cannot know, what they need to know.” This observation was initially made by Haridimos Tsoukas in the 1990s, regarding firms but we can all agree that they apply to our institutions just as much as they did – and still do – private companies.

The past year or so has brought its fair share of uncertainty and the coming months or years will most certainly continue to do so. Recent discussions – if not heated debate – about the impact of NFTs on the creative and artistic sector is yet another example of uncertainty : will this new technology serve our sector? Will it be damaging it?
